On alternate Sundays we ride either road or mountain bikes. We ride a route for that particular Sunday the ride is normally decided on the Monday evening.
Distances range for mountain bikes is approximately 20 to 40 miles over Dartmoor, weather dependant.
Road bike rides can be about 60 miles to 75 miles around Devon or Cornwall.
But don’t be put of by these distances: it doe's takes time to build up the stamina to ride these distances.
REMEMBER No one is ever left behind!
We ride at a pace of the slowest rider. But hay! not that slow, you should be able to ride at a brisk pace. About 14mph or quicker.
You will find your ability, you will also learn a lot about body’s ability to go further and faster, with practise.
You will make friends with people who have the same interests as you, riding bikes over all terrains and distances.
We do not ride hell for leather all the time and we also stop at cafes for refreshments so we are not uncivilised. Bring some cash!
Wet weather clothing, because the sun dosn't always shine.
Mobile phone, always handy for the unexpected.
Club nights
Monday evenings are our get together evenings, where we discuss everything to do with cycling, whether it is about training, bikes, new trips/routes we have done or are planning to do.
(No club meetings on Bank Holiday Mondays)
We have a cup of tea or coffee for 20p while we discuss these major issues.
Why not pop around and see what its all about.
We meet at Emmanuel Church Hall
just off Mutley Plain at 2000 until 2100 hours.
And you are most welcome to come along and meet us all, and find out what the club is all about.
20p is all you need for a cup of tea or coffee.
