Sunday the 8th January's Road bike ride.

Here we are, the bravest was Tim, thought the summer had come early.

We had a three Yogi's join us as nobody had turned up for their published Sunday ride.

Soon we where speeding our way into the South Hams, on our way through quiet country lanes.

Including me there where 12 of us in total. We headed out to Ivybridge, Ermington, Modbury, California Cross, Avonwick and the all important tea stop at Wrangaton. The weather had got alot warmer on the way there , but looking towards the hills of Dartmoor the rain was about to decend on us. The local CTC cycle group where just leaving as we arrived, and inside where a few members of the Corrie's.
After food and drink it was time to go....that was until Tim noticed his front tyre was FLAT....apparently the patch from his previous puncture wasn't stuck that well.
We all stood around ad cooled right down while Tim said he was warm enough.
Puncture repaired and we where off...into that good old fine mizzle....Bittaford it turn into a real Down pore !!!
Thats when the camera went away. A great ride was had by all.

And the morale of this tail is always bring a waterproof jacket!!!

Mist on the hills

The next tale is of our new cycle path from Richmond walk to Millbridge along a shared pathway between the old Royal Naval Hospital and the Army Hospital along the old creek bed. There is a plan to extend it through Victoria Park to Pennycomequick.

The start at Richmond Walk

Through the tunnel under the road way.

From the end of the tunnel, you will have to cross the road/carpark as its not that well sign posted to here.

Passing the lower end of R.N.H. as it was once know as..

Behind this Lovely fence is the remains of the jetty, where the injured and sick matelots would be disembarked, for treatment.

On the other bank is the Army Hospital, now a school.

The bright shiney path...

And the End with Victoria Park in the Distance..
